Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has indicated that discussions regarding a contract extension for striker Harry Kane are imminent. The club is preparing to engage with Kane upon his return from a period of rest in the United States. Kane’s current deal is entering its final year, but there is a positive outlook within the club regarding his continued presence.
Dreesen, speaking at a press event in Munich, conveyed a mutual interest from both the club and Kane to extend his tenure. He stated that both parties are “very keen” to reach an agreement, and the focus will be on aligning expectations to find common ground. The club aims to resolve any uncertainty surrounding the striker as the new season approaches.
Kane’s Impact and Contract Outlook
Since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, Kane has become a central figure in the team’s attack. His transfer, reported to be €100m plus €10m in add-ons, made him a significant signing in Bundesliga history. Kane has achieved a notable record of 146 goals in 147 appearances across all competitions.
During the last season, Kane featured 51 times across all competitions, contributing to 68 goals with 61 strikes and seven assists. Speculation had linked French winger Michael Olise and Colombian star Luis Diaz with potential departures during the current transfer window. However, the Bayern CEO dismissed these rumours, describing them as “astonishing” and affirming the club’s intention to retain its competitive edge.
Olise had been linked with a move to Real Madrid following a strong campaign where he was named Bundesliga Player of the Season and performed well for France at the World Cup, providing seven assists as Les Bleus finished fourth. Diaz also had a significant debut season in Bavaria, contributing to 49 goals across all competitions.
