Men’s Competition Match at Trent Bridge

In the women’s competition, London Spirit Women secured their first win of the tournament, defeating Trent Rockets Women by five wickets at Trent Bridge. Grace Harris of London Spirit played a significant role, scoring 37 runs from 20 balls before being caught by Luff off Ash Gardner (2-24).
Marizanne Kapp started well for Spirit, bowling Beth Mooney. However, a 33-run partnership between Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Luff helped the Rockets. Kapp later dismissed Dunkley (23 runs) and Luff (24 runs), and Georgia Adams was caught and bowled by Charlie Dean.
Ash Gardner, captain of the Trent Rockets Women, was the top scorer for her team with 34 runs before her innings ended. Bess Heath added an unbeaten 31 runs. Despite Amy Jones (21 runs), Kapp (2 runs), and Sterre Kalis (0 runs) falling quickly for the Spirit, Marie Kelly (39 runs) and Nadine de Klerk (41 not out) guided them to chase down the target of 142 runs.
The Trent Rockets Women squad included Beth Mooney, valued at £210,000 (A$394,000), and Ashleigh Gardner, valued at £100,000 (A$187,000). Grace Harris‘s contract with London Spirit Women was valued at £70,000 (A$131,000).
