Reports from The Athletic suggest that Real Madrid is now confident in signing Rodri. Initially, Manchester City and Rodri were expected to discuss a contract extension after the World Cup. However, the midfielder reportedly showed little interest in extending his current deal. Real Madrid, impressed by his World Cup performances, reportedly changed their stance after previously ruling out his signing. With the transfer window still open for over a month, Manchester City may negotiate a transfer with Real Madrid, particularly as the club is undergoing a minor rebuild following Pep Guardiola’s departure.
Maresca’s Vision and Challenges Ahead
Enzo Maresca has officially commenced his role as Manchester City’s head coach, outlining his plans to continue the club’s recent success. Speaking at his first press conference, Maresca discussed his footballing philosophy, the significant challenge of succeeding Pep Guardiola, and his approach to pre-season and transfer dealings.
Maresca’s appointment marks his third tenure at the club, having previously coached the elite development squad and served as an assistant to Pep Guardiola during the treble-winning 2022-23 season.
