His mother, Maria Arthuer, along with his father Felix, undertook a perilous journey over 32 years ago, fleeing Ghana for Spain. This migration involved crossing the Sahara Desert and eventually entering Spain’s North African enclave, Melilla. Their journey was made barefoot and without water, a testament to their determination to seek a better life for their family. They applied for political asylum, claiming to be from Liberia, a country at war, after being advised by a lawyer from Caritas.

Nico Williams, born in Pamplona, Spain, to Ghanaian parents, is known for his speed on the pitch. His older brother, Iñaki Williams, also a professional footballer, represents Ghana internationally, while Nico plays for Spain.
