Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the young Indian batting sensation, recently attended the Wimbledon 2026 men’s singles final at the iconic All England Club in London. The 15-year-old cricketer was present to witness the match between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, marking his first live Grand Slam experience. He was accompanied by fellow India opener Abhishek Sharma and former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, with Sanju Samson also noted as being present at Centre Court.
Sooryavanshi, who recently made his senior India debut, attracted attention with his formal attire, which included a black blazer, white shirt, striped tie, and tinted sunglasses. However, he revealed that the outfit was arranged at the last minute. He humorously stated that he didn’t plan anything, and whatever he could find quickly, he asked Abhishek Sharma to arrange for him. He credited Sharma for helping him with his Wimbledon look.
A Memorable Sporting Experience
The visit to Wimbledon was a memorable addition to Sooryavanshi’s eventful tour of England. It followed his maiden international series for India, where he made his senior debut in a T20I series against England. At 15 years and 99 days, he became India’s youngest international debutant, surpassing a long-standing record. India, however, lost the five-match T20I series 0-4 against England.
For Sooryavanshi, watching the Wimbledon final live was a significant experience. He expressed his interest in observing how players perform under the pressure of a major final. He mentioned that it was his first time watching a Grand Slam live and that it was beneficial to see the approach of top players in such a crucial match.

He stated that he used to watch Nadal and Djokovic a lot and still likes Djokovic a great deal.
Among the current generation of tennis players, Sooryavanshi expressed admiration for Carlos Alcaraz, though he noted that Alcaraz was not playing in this year’s tournament. He was particularly impressed by Jannik Sinner’s dominance throughout the tournament and predicted that Sinner would win the Wimbledon trophy. His prediction proved accurate as Sinner recovered from losing the opening set to defeat Zverev 6-7 (7), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-4, securing his second consecutive Wimbledon men’s singles crown and his fifth Grand Slam title.
When asked about his ideal doubles partner in tennis, Sooryavanshi light-heartedly chose Abhishek Sharma. He explained that since Sharma is his opening partner in international cricket and he enjoys batting with him, he would also choose him as his doubles tennis partner.
This Wimbledon appearance follows an extraordinary few months for Sooryavanshi. He earned his maiden India call-up after finishing IPL 2026 as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, amassing 776 runs in 16 matches and becoming the youngest Orange Cap winner. He also struck a record 72 sixes during the season and finished with a strike rate of 237.30.
